The Art of appreciation

6/10/2020

Today I'd like to take this time to express my appreciation towards all the madness going on. From the coronavirus, to the riots and even the presidency campaign. Its an unnecessarily wild time to be alive and we're all confused and unsure of what to expect in the future.

But all of this was some how necessary for us to collectively evolve. I've been watching many spiritual leaders on YouTube explain their theory on what is happening and it seems that there is an astrological shift in the zodiac age.

Apparently, we are at the end of the Piscean age where duality played a huge part in the structures of society. Where people in power, from the top down strategized
with a win or lose mentality. And now with the whole world restructuring its agendas, its rightfully influenced by the beginning of the age of Aquarius where duality is now replaced by a higher shift in our collective consciousness and everyone with the desire to win, shall win.

As esoteric as all of this may seem, I think its pretty evident and are excited for the changes. I refuse to imagine our lives going back to normal and thus, I'd like to express my gratitude to God Universe.

Introduction to the savage instinct

The term Savage means to return to our biological state. Savages, an Oliver Stone film about two marijuana growers, find themselves in a situation when their mutual love interest gets kid napped by the Mexican cartel. Ophelia, played by Blake Lively is the lustrous girlfriend of both Sean and Ben, is held for ransom amidst a sideways negotiation. Throughout the movie we follow her two lovers, who also happen to be best friends test the limits of savagery to save the love of their lives.

The term "savage" is used through out this movie but the one specific scene that stick with me most was when a lead cartel worker performs the first stake out, spying on them after date night. After realizing their situation, confirming indeed, the unorthodox romantic relationship between the trio.

His exact words, "They're all banging each other? Savages."

Now, why does that simple statement stick with me? Well because for one, its true. It is savage- especially on Ophelia's part. She could be coined many negative terms but to me she is simply an open minded woman who equally loved and happily satisfied both men. Of whom, were gravely different from one another. Together, according to Miss. Ophelia, they made one whole man. In the beginning of the movie she graphically entices us by declaring that one makes love to her and the other f***s her, one is earth and the other is spirit.

I bring this up because when it comes to growing into our authentic selves. There will be many times when we have to tap into our Savage Instincts. Not necessarily through a throuple -but hey to each is own. Intuitively we need to treat the severity of our expansion as do or die. And that's exactly what a savage instinct responds to.

There will a time when we have to bravely decide to follow a dream and expect to manifest everything we had in mind and be so positively. Because to be happy and feel alive is our birth right. The short amount of time we have here on earth is most satisfying when we are fulfilling our destinies and that can only be brought into our awareness through consistent alignment.

Yesterday we talked briefly on alignment and its necessity in pole fitness. Today the topic of savagery is important to absorb because the perception of pole dancing is still incredibly taboo. Just like the idea of a throuple.

What do these two things have anything to with our progression on athletic capabilities? Well first, the limits we set on our trajectory reflect mindset. Some may be making the decision to take on pole dancing because they want to explore new fitness alternatives, lose weight or take up a new hobby. And that's all well and good.

But to take up Polartes is the dive into the practice with the intention to help shift the perceptions of the art through honing in our inward beliefs of our highest potential.

The Polartes practice is more than just pole exercise, its a program designed to help us expand our inner awareness and shift our paradigms. Going Savage mode on our old selves, limiting beliefs and reptilian brains is required to truly expand into the highest version of our destined self.

In my book series "The Infinite Journey of Alignment", I go deep into various instincts including savagery, to strengthen the development of an open mindset. Because alignment requires balance and symmetry, contradicting view points are expressed through the analogies of yin and yang. How in everything we come across in life there are two sides of everything.

When we are ready to transform, there will be a need to seek out balance in all areas of our experience. A healthy dose of good and bad, Right and wrong and light and dark exists in all formats and when it comes to exercising the Savage Instincts.

infinite alignment

We're all light beings having a human experience. Are we not?
I know, I know... Its wild to think about the many conclusions of our existence. There has been outlandish theories of the origination of our species. One being that our existence started as reptilian and it has been proven psychologically by our reptilian brain. The lazy control system of our mind that replays our defaulted thought patterns.

Its hard to believe that we are some what related to an amphibian. Insane almost,  but some how true. Therefore, Its not grandiose to esoterically conclude that we are also light beings.

When you hear the words infinite, what is the first thing you think about?
My Answer: Never Ending

How about when you hear the word alignment?
My Answer: Balance or Equilibrium

This post should of been called "Never Ending Balance" but the current title has more flavor to it. Wouldn't you agree?

Today, I would like to touch base upon my views of Infinite Alignment and how as light beings growing through this human experience, there really is no tangible evidence of anything being real other than what we focus on. And physically, throughout our pole practice, it is in the alignment of our bodies that we can achieve advanced levels of trick executions.

It's an audacious claim and a very abstract view point but bare with me.  Because in this obscurity lies the conclusion of what I believe to be the basic foundations in obtaining our personal infinite alignment, aka Never Ending Balance/ Equilibrium. Which in turns our physical capabilities to achieve external alignment.

Because our human bodies are made up of mostly water, we operate on a reality plane that communicates through energy. I'm sure you've heard spiritual leaders say, our emotions are nothing more than energies in motion. When we are out of alignment, we can feel it in the form of lack and un-groundedness.

And physically, when out of alignment on the pole, we experience over compensation from muscle groups that disrupt our form.
For example, It wasn't until I was years into my pole journey until I was corrected on how to properly climb. I always pulled my way up by utilizing my shoulders.
I was properly taught to use my forearm and wrists to distribute my weight.
In this case, the misalignment took place in my upper body and when corrected, the weight shifted in the proper places and resulted in the equilibrium of my upper body.

To comprehend what internal alignment is can only be felt. Just like I can tell you it's cold but unless you've felt cold before you wouldn't understand. You'd only know that cold was a sensation of low temperatures. Same thing with alignment.

Energetic alignment feels blissful and easy. Like you are in the right place at the right time doing exactly what you are suppose to be doing. Many have even described the feeling of alignment as being one in the same as to that of the emotion of love. Which is also abstract in itself but both is achieved through energetic equilibrium. In romantic love, the exchange of energy is mutual. Therefore, infinite alignment is essentially self love.

In order to fully understand infinite alignment we need to be in tuned with our chakras. The seven energy junctions located in the center of our bodies that start from our tail bone to the top of our heads. They are significant to achieving infinite alignment because the energy in each junction helps bring awareness to our internal (spiritual) and external disconnections.

To understand and prioritize our internal alignment will result in harmony in all areas of our human experience. Its vital to the quality of our growth.

FLow + Flexibility

Besides the obvious benefits of flexibility like preventing injury and improving your overall performance. Regularly challenging your flexibility leads to having an increased range of motion, meaning that the soft tissues surrounding your joints will grant you the heavenly passage of permitting gorgeous splits and back bends.

When muscles become shortened due to overuse or underuse, this dictates the way our joints move. When performing high kicks and choppers as a pole dancer and generally in the world of any dance and performance arts, the more flexible you are, the prettier  things look.

But lets step aside from the vanity of flexibility and go internal. Let's go one on one with the self. In the process of increasing your flexibility, you have an internal dialogue that is being challenged. As soon as you feel that pain, you are groomed to STOP.

"OUCH, that is painful. Let's get out of this position," says your body. "Hurry up and finish this torturous, unnatural pulling of your joints and muscles," says your brain. Consequently, we cut our selves and our stretching sessions short. Sure, we can get in that split from time to time and as soon as its executed that sharp pain will dictate the duration of the stretch. What we fail to perceive is that sharp pain can actually be our best friend.

When we choose to truly increase our flexibility, we embrace that pain and find it liberating. That pain becomes our growth monitor and we then in turn seek to understand that pain. We start to internally investigate which muscle fiber is tight, and in what position can we shift to alleviate this tension. As we begin to embrace the pain that comes with our flexibility, we find grace in our movements.

What are some things to help you trick your mind and body submerge focus inwards towards increasing your  magnificent stretching abilities? Below are five awesome strategies.

1. Pick Sensual Tunes
Dedicate a playlist full of sensual songs that make you feel sexy. Let it get you into a playful mood and dedicate at least 25 minutes. Thats about 5 or 6 songs, my absolute favorites are Justin Bieber - Hold on Tight, Usher - Daddy's Home, Beyonce - Dance For You, and my current favorite is my the legendary Britney Spears Ft. Tisane - Slumber Party.

2. Go Slow
This is not a race to see who can throw their legs back behind their heads first. This is a competition between who you were during your workout to who you will be after this stretch session. Take your time and don't overstrain your muscles, don't feel rushed or allow your ego to convince you need to be better then what your prepared to be. That is how injuries happen.

3. Breathe and Be Aware
Breath is a beautiful thing. Awareness is even prettier. Both are not one in the same because you can breathe without being aware. Many of us are doing that as we speak! But when I mention awareness while breathing, I mean really try to imagine that breath traveling through your body and nourishing your organs with the sweet oxygen molecules of Mother Earth. You will be more engaged in the movements and the act in itself will transport you to a realm of body and mind connection that is stronger then your office's Wi-Fi.

4. Think Of It As A New Addiction
So do you remember a time when you wanted to make a massive life change and started this new and awesome habit of drinking water or taking supplements or using sheet masks? I don't know if you could relate but I was obsessed and addicted to sheet masks because of the amazing benefits I saw in my complexion. I was hooked! Anyway, thats how you should feel about stretching and increasing your flexibility. In doing so, you will operate with a sense of excited-ness (no that wasn't a word but it should be!) versus engaging in an act of chore. You see the difference? Better yet, feel the difference?

5. Make It Into A Dance
Ahh... Yes. Your playlist has been chosen and you've been equipped with tips and breathing techniques. Combine it all into a small routine, mini showcase. Lay on your back, do side kicks and hold your stretch to a verse. Move around and alternate sides based on the base and the melody. In no time your stretch session will be over and you will have not only challenged your flexibility but also have spiced up your energy! Go you!
